Tonight Thanet District Council Cabinet have agreed to contract external lawyers to advise on the suitability of RiverOak as a CPO partner, and to provide advice on the indemnity agreement and CPO process generally.
There was discussion over whether the £10,000 budget was high enough to commission the best quality legal advice. Further questions were raised over the time UKIP have taken to bring this to Cabinet, but Cllr Wells rebuffed this, saying it has been a swift process, after a wasted year by the precious administration.
Cllr Wells wrapped up by stating he was unconvinced that tearing up assets like Manston Airport was the way to go, after visiting the Wynard Park site last month.
The meeting ended after just 20 minutes with the Cabinet reaching the decision to commission expert legal advice.
