RiverOak – Manston Airport Aviation Academy
RiverOak have produced this document, dated September 2016, in response to the Thames Estuary 2050 Growth Commission. In it, they talk about their vision to create a Manston Aviation Academy should their application for a DCO be successful.
“Our vision is for a vibrant freight-focused airport, employing local, well-trained people and supporting local, regional and national businesses. In order to meet this challenge, it is essential that we train and educate local people in line with the needs of the business. However, the opportunity exists for a much more comprehensive vision of an academy designed to bring together the aerospace industry with academia (universities, colleges and potentially schools), in line with UK and European government policy. As such, RiverOak are keen to establish an aviation academy close to or on the Manston Airport site.”
With them all the way, apart from Manston Aviation History where it played a part in our Winning the war, we need the extra trade and support in the area, We All miss the planes coming over, and want to welcome them back . Good Luck to River Oak with their persistence and tenacity to bringing life and prosperity back to Thanet, the country needs more trade and connection to other countries. Bring Manston Back. !!!!
What a shame . Seems like it’s a done deal. While the uk is calling for another runway in the south east costing billions. Manston can be perfectly equipped for cargo . And to relieve Heathrow and Gatwick from freight .
Thanet will allways be the poor orphan in Kent .
